What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An employee assistance program (EAP) is a confidential resource for information, referral and counseling. Available to all Department employees and their families, our EAP provides solutions for challenging situations, information about community resources, and referrals to a variety of service providers.
Why Do We Have an EAP?
The Department values you as an employee and recognizes that personal and professional responsibilities can create challenging situations. Our EAP has been established to assist you with these challenges. It is a valuable benefit that you have earned the right to use.
That Are the Hours?
EAP services are accessible Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, except on Federal holidays. Appointments can be made by calling the EAP office during normal working hours.
To Whom Will I Be Talking?
Our EAP staff consists of counselors experienced in a broad range of personal and family issues. Each counselor has completed a graduate degree in a counseling-related field and is licensed for professional practice.
Is the Service Confidential?
EAP services are confidential, in compliance with Federal law. Accordingly, the EAP has no impact on your job status or your ability to obtain promotions.
What Does It Cost?
Services provided by the EAP are free. It is an employee benefit that is paid for by the Department.
Can My Family Use the Service?
Yes. EAP services are available to you and your family members.
