The Center for Disability Rights (CDR) is a not-for-profit, community-based advocacy and service organization for people with all types of disabilities. The NADSP is a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to strengthening the quality of human service support by strengthening the direct support workforce. The group has representatives from the fields of mental health, developmental disabilities, child welfare, education, and many others in the human services community. The Alliance has developed a national agenda to address conditions chronicled for 25 years that are harmful to people who rely on human services. These conditions include high staff turnover, low social status, insufficient training, limited educational and career opportunities, and poor wages. These undermine the commitment of the Direct Support Professionals, and have made it very difficult to recruit and train qualified and committed individuals in direct support roles in every area of human services.

The New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (Coalition) is a not-for-profit membership organization whose mission is to eradicate domestic violence and to ensure the provision of effective and appropriate services to victims of domestic violence through community outreach, education, training, technical assistance and policy development. The New York State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH) provides vocational rehabilitation and other direct services to blind and visually impaired New York State residents, including children, adults, and elderly persons. One of CBVH's primary objectives is to assist consumers in achieving economic self-sufficiency and full integration into society. CBVH offers these services from seven district offices across the state.


NYS Council on Graduate Medical Education

The New York State Council on Graduate Medical Education is a 30-member advisory body which provides advice to the Governor and Commissioner of Health on the formulation and implementation of State policies relating to graduate medical education and training. The work of the Council and its four subcommittees focus on: primary care training and practice; consortia development; minority participation in graduate medical education (GME); and health care reform/managed care. The membership is broadly representative of health professional, hospital and public interests. Members are appointed by the Governor, upon recommendation of the Commissioner of Health, for terms of three to four years. The Council and each of the four subcommittees meet quarterly in New York City. The Council was created by Executive Order in 1987 and has been recognized in statute in the New York Prospective Hospital Reimbursement Methodology (NYPHRM) and in the Health Care Reform Act of 1996 (HCRA).

The New York State Independent Living Council (NYSILC) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, consumer controlled organization. NYSILC is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the 3-year Statewide Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). New York State Inclusive Recreation Resource Center

The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) awarded SUNY Cortland Recreation, Parks and Leisure Studies Department a substantial and renewable grant to establish a statewide resource center for inclusive recreation. Along with the DDPC, collaborating partners include I Love New York Tourism, the New York State Recreation and Park Society, the Self Advocacy Association of New York, the New York State Therapeutic Recreation Association, and the Department of Environmental Conservation. With the support of this grant and our partners, we hope to increase access to recreation programs and facilities across New York state so that all people of all abilities can recreate how and where they choose.

The Western New York Independent Living Project, Inc.
