Chaplain Wesley is originally from Chattanooga, TN.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Masters degree in Bible from Abilene Christian University. He also earned a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee, a Masters in Theology and Ethics from Yale University, a Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary and is currently a PhD candidate in Theology, Ethics and Culture at Claremont Graduate University.

Commissioned as a LTJG in the Chaplain Corps, U. S. Navy in July 1995, Chaplain Wesley’s previous assignments include Staff Chaplain, Naval Air Engineering Station, Lakehurst, NJ; Submarine Base, New London, Groton, CT; USS Support Group, Port-au-Prince, Haiti; USS Gettysburg, Mayport, FL,  Third Marine Aircraft Wing, Miramar, CA., and the Naval Postgraduate School, where he served as ethics instructor and protestant chaplain.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold star in lieu of third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold star in lieu of second award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and other medals and awards.
