EAP is a support system for all employees (military, civilian and their families), with personal, family or job-related problems, providing an umbrella of various services to enhance the well being of Coast Guard employees and families. Employees are the most important asset of the federal government. Both the employees and the government benefit when employees have services available to them that will help to maintain and enhance the quality of their lives. From time to time, each of us experience personal problems. We know that many of these problems can be solved with professional assistance.
Training Center Yorktown's Employee Assistance Coordinator (EAPC) can be contacted at (757) 686-4028. The coordinator provides and coordinates life skills training, personal financial management and assistance, victim/witness assistance, Red Cross tragedy coordination, and preventive education training for rape/sexual assault, workplace violence and suicide awareness. After hours emergency only please call the Atlantic Area Command Center at (757) 398-6231 and they will contact her.
The Coast Guard recognizes that the well being of our personnel and their family members is very important. We further recognize that unsolved personal and work place problems often have incapacitating effects leading to lost productivity and costly intervention. Because of this, the Coast Guard has adopted the EAP to help our people proactively address their concerns and manage problems throughout their careers. The EAP counseling services provides a confidential means to improve life skills or obtain help before a concern becomes a crisis to uniformed members and civilians and their families. This allows the Coast Guard to maintain a more productive work force which is focused on mission performance. To use EAP counseling services call the following toll free number.
