  • 2006: Developed an exact scheme for transverse-to-longitudinal emittance exchange
  • 2005: Developed a theory of Smith-Purcell free electron laser in collaboration with Vinit Kumar
  • 2003: Developed a theory for flat beam generation
  • 2002: Developed a theory on micro-bunching instability and its iterative solution
  • 2000: Developed the theory of ionization cooling of muon beams
  • 1994: Invented a novel method to generate femtosecond x-ray beams via 90 degree Thomson scattering of electron beams with laser beams
  • 1989: Developed the first theory of the RF photocathode guns
  • 1986: Developed the first theory for the self-amplified-spontaneous emission in high-gain free electron lasers
  • 1985: Invented the crossed undulator for variably polarized synchrotron radiation
  • 1985: Developed the phase space method of synchrotron radiation optics based on the Wigner function
