Clinical Education: Standardized PatientStandardized Patient Case and DVDMaterials to present a standardized patient (actress or layperson) portraying an African American women with multiple risks for coronary artery disease who presents for evaluation. Focuses on counseling skills using the Prochaska and Di Clemente model (pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, transformation.) Includes resources and references. The accompanying DVD illustrates the mechanism of a standardized patient session. Educators may use the Standardized Patient Case below in their curriculum without seeking approval. These case materials are appropriate for health professional students (medicine, nursing, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, lay health educators) residents, and practicing physicians.
