Group/Air Station Astoria is co-located at the Astoria Regional Airport in Warrenton, Oregon approximately two hours driving time from Portland, Oregon. The missions of the Group/Air Station include search and rescue, ports waterways and coastal security, law enforcement, aids to navigation support, environmental protection, and support for units in the area. The Group provides Supply, Administration, Medical, Naval and Civil Engineering, Communications and other support functions. Facilities include a hangar, administrative/medical building, supply building, public works building, morale building, gymnasium, and an athletic diamond. The cities of Astoria and Warrenton are located on the south side of the Columbia River in the northwest corner of Oregon State.  With a population of approximately 17,000 people, the primary industries are tourism, timber, and fishing. The Coast Guard enjoys a favorable reputation in the greater Astoria area due to a longstanding presence there and a positive regard for the missions performed.

Area of Responsibility: Queets River (about 47-32N) on the Washington Coast south to Cape Kiwanda (about 45-12N) on Oregon Coast and out to 50 nautical miles, Columbia River entrance east to Puget Island (about 123-20W or river mile 45) near Westport, Oregon.
