The Coast Guard Institute is pleased to provide a two day "ESO Orientation Workshop" here in Oklahoma City. The workshop is designed for new Full-time and Collateral Duty ESOs. Experienced ESOs who desire a "tune up" are also encouraged to attend. Workshops will be held on Wednesday and Thursday the third week of every other month and are limited to 8 personnel.
This workshop does not replace the online ESO Course that is currently in development. The workshop is designed to provide the fundamental skills and knowledge a new ESO needs to begin their duties and provides an orientation to the role of the CGI and its relationship with the field ESOs. Each attendee will be provided briefings and hands-on training with every business line of the CGI and meet the staff of the CGI.
Commands will be expected to provide TAD funding.
We encourage you to consider this opportunity and look forward to seeing you in Oklahoma City!
The schedule for upcoming months is:
* All collateral duty and new full-time ESOs should attend an ESO Orientation. The Full-Time ESO Workshop is designed for experienced CG ESOs and will provide extensive time for brainstorming and problem solving of both processes and policy as the ESO program continues to develop.
** CG ESO Symposium will be held in conjunction with the DoD Worldwide Education Symposium.
In order to personalize your training and include "real world" scenarios, it is suggested that you bring as many of the following as possible when you visit. They should be actual requests from your unit, preferably unsubmitted to the CG Institue, however recent applications are also appropriate.
