USGS to Exhibit at National Science Teachers' Association Annual
Meeting
On April 6-9, 2000, the National Science Teachers' Association (NSTA) will
hold their 48th National Convention in Orlando, Florida. With a
membership of approximately 55,000 science teachers, the NSTA
always has an excellent turnout to their meetings. The meeting affords
the USGS with a valuable means of showcasing our educational
materials. Traditionally, teachers have found the USGS information and
material very helpful to them in planning and conducting their science
classes. We have planned for 2 large exhibits and there will be 12 USGS
employees staffing these exhibits, from disciplines including geology,
hydrology, mapping, and biology. In addition to the many useful teachers'
packets, teachers' planning guides, water posters, and other general interest
scientific publications and interactive web sites we will display, we will
highlight some of our Florida-specific publications such as:
The south Florida
environment--A region under stress: USGS Circular 1134 and
Hydrology of Central Florida Lakes
- A Primer: USGS Circular 1137
U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey
Maintainer: USGS Florida Webmasters
