BECOME A FIPSE FIELD READER: FIPSE continually seeks experts in the field of postsecondary education to serve as OPE field readers for grant competitions. You must register in the OPE field reader database to become a FIPSE reader. When registering, be sure to specify the FIPSE grant competitions, as well as other OPE competitions, for which you want to be considered as a reader. For FIPSE grant competitions, you do not need to complete the one-time business registration.

REGISTER AND APPLY EARLY: Effective with the FY 2006 competitions, all programs require institutions to register to create a Grants.gov account and receive approval from your organization to submit proposals. Registration is a one-time process that may take five or more days to complete. We strongly recommend that you register early and not to wait until the last day to submit your application. You will not be able to submit a proposal without being registered. For detailed information, please go to the Grants.gov Web site at http://www.grants.gov/applicants/get_registered.jsp.

Application materials and guidelines for all FIPSE programs are available on Grants.gov when the application period is open. You may request e-mail notification for FIPSE programs on Grants.gov. FIPSE programs are listed under CFDA number 84.116. When the application period for a particular program closes, the guidelines are archived on the FIPSE Web site under the Web page for that program.
