The KiMo Theater is a registered Historic Landmark built in 1927. Due to the original design and construction of the building, there are some limitations to accessibility.

The main floor of the building is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and is accessible to all audience members and performers.

Certain notable architectural and decorative elements in the upper portions of the building have been reproduced in the Lobby for easier viewing.

Wheelchair Access & Seating Areas

The KiMo has no elevator. The balcony and upper floors of the building may not be accessible to some persons due to the several flights of stairs.

There are four wheelchair and companion seating areas on the Main Floor.  Seating chart

Transferring to a regular seat may be possible in some areas of the Main Floor (aisle seats in rows A through G). These seats are available 'first come, first served' and at the regular price for the seat.

The KiMo has limited storage space for wheelchairs.
Exits, aisles, and walkways may not be obstructed. (Fire Code)

Ticket Sales for Wheelchair Spaces or Mobility Impaired persons

Wheelchair spaces, Companion and Mobility Impaired seating is limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please contact the KiMo Theatre Ticket Office during Business Hours at 768-3544 to inquire about purchasing tickets for 'Wheelchair spaces' or 'Mobility Impaired' seating.

Accessible Parking

Accessible-designated parking spaces are available at the 5th Street and Copper parking garage directly north of the theatre. There is no charge for parking with a State issued Disabled Parking Permit.

There is a height restriction of 6 ft. 9 in. for vehicles in the parking garage.

The distance from these parking spaces to the KiMo's front door is about 300 feet (the length of a football field) of concrete sidewalk.

There are no accessible-designated parking spaces on Central Avenue. Metered parking spaces are free for vehicles that display a Disabled Parking Permit.

Parking fees in any privately owned lots are subject to their policies.

Passenger Drop-Off

We have no official drop-off zone, but the sidewalk on 5th Street at the west side of the building can sometimes be used.

Please don't drop off passengers in front of the theatre from the Central Avenue traffic lanes.

Service Animals

Service Animals are welcomed at the KiMo, but space for them in the seating areas of the auditorium during performances is limited.
