Burnsville Eagan Savage Independent School District 191 educates nearly 10,715 K-12 students across 15 schools. ISD 191 has made a district-wide commitment to reduce their energy costs, allowing them to direct more resources into the classroom. Through their partnerships with the Schools for Energy EfficiencyTM (SEE) program and ENERGY STAR, the district has saved more than $410,000 by implementing low- and no-cost strategies and a comprehensive program specifically designed for K-12 schools. They have achieved more than a 10 point improvement in energy efficiency. Built on the commitment of the superintendent, school board, and an involved staff and student community, the program helped the district improve energy efficiency by 13% during the 2005-2006 school year.
