Governor Blagojevich's KEEP COOL ILLINOIS Campaign

Welcome to the Keep Cool Illinois website. The Keep Cool Illinois campaign was launched to help all Illinoisans - especially the elderly, people with disabilities and families with young children and other vulnerable residents - stay cool, healthy and safe this summer.

Extreme heat can be dangerous if proper safety precautions are not taken to prevent dehydration and overheating. Call the Keep Cool Illinois hotline at (877) 411-9276 if you need assistance.

The Keep Cool Illinois website offers a wide variety of tips for households to avoid heat-related health problems as well as how to save energy by lowering their electricity bills and find cooling centers throughout the state. The website also provides information about state energy assistance programs, including the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), other energy-related resources and information about resolving utility service complaints.

I am committed to doing all I can to help Illinoisans prepare for the heat of the summer by providing important information through the Keep Cool Illinois campaign about how to prevent heat stroke and other heat-related health complications, reduce utility bills and most importantly how to stay safe and have fun this summer.

Sincerely,

Rod Blagojevich
