GOV. RITTER STATEMENT ON PINON CANYON
Gov. Bill Ritter today issued the following statement regarding Pinon Canyon:
"I know how concerning the Army's expansion plans are to the farming and ranching communities in southeast Colorado. I share those concerns and have communicated that to Army officials.
"In fact, I spoke with Gen. Mixon this afternoon to reiterate those concerns. As the Army moves forward, the process must be open, transparent and inclusive.
"There are significant issues that need to be addressed and resolved, and nobody's voice should be left out of a discussion that involves private-property rights."
