What does the Private Pesticide Applicator Exam Materials Request application do?

In order to become a licensed Private Pesticide Applicator in the State of Colorado, you must pass an open-book licensure exam. This exam is administered by the Colorado Dept. of Agriculture and a passing score is required in order to become eligible for licensure. The Private Applicator Exam Materials Request Application allows you to request and pay for exam materials online, directly from the Dept. of Agriculture. Once your request is received, the Dept. of Agriculture will send your exam materials via postal mail.

  • An administrative fee applies to all online transactions.
  • Upon completion of your online transaction, please allow up to 10 business days for delivery of your exam materials via mail.

What will I need to begin my exam materials request?

Before starting your online transaction you will need:

  • Your credit card or checking account information.
  • A valid email address so that you can receive your transaction receipt.

How long will it take to get my exam materials?

After completing the online portion of the exam materials request, your information will be electronically transferred to the Dept. of Agriculture for processing. Once the Dept. of Agriculture receives and processes your data, please allow up to 10 business days to receive your testing materials by postal mail.

What are the fees for completing my exam request online?

The Colorado Dept. of Agriculture requires a fee of $20.00* per exam packet requested.

*In addition, each transaction processed online is subject to a fee used to cover the administrative costs associated with this service. This fee will be added to the amount you pay per transaction. For credit card transactions, the administrative fees are 2.25% plus $ .75 per transaction. If you choose to pay using an eCheck, the administrative costs are reduced to $1.00 per transaction.

General Instructions: Completing your Private Applicator exam request online.

> Application Entry Page
To begin the process of requesting your Private Applicator exam materials online, please review the information provided on the application entry page. This page contains general instructions as well as any notices or information that may be pertinent. Click the "Begin Materials Request" button to begin the process of requesting an exam

> Applicant Information Entry
Please enter your information in the appropriate fields. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

If you currently hold, or have held, an EPA-issued private applicator license, select the checkbox indicating this.

Indicate the number of exam packets you would like to obtain. If you would like to request more than one training packet, enter this number in the field provided. Additional packets cost $20.00 each, excluding applicable administrative fees.

> Confirm Your Information
Once you enter your billing information in the spaces provided, take a moment to ensure that all of the information appears correctly. If you need to modify any information, click the "Edit" button to be returned to the previous data entry page, where you will be able to make the changes. Do not use your browser's back button.

Once you have confirmed your information, click the "Checkout" button to proceed to the payment portion of the application.

> Checkout: Payment Type Selection
The checkout portion of the application collects your payment and billing information and allows you to pay by electronic check or credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Begin the checkout process by selecting the type of payment method you wish to use.

Your online transaction will show up as "COLO ONLINE SERVICES " on your bank or credit card statement.

> Banking Information
Depending on the payment type you select, you will be asked to enter your bank or credit card information in the fields provided.

> Customer Payment Information
Enter your billing information as it relates to the credit card or bank account being used to process your payment. Be sure to enter the name exactly as it appears on the card. A phone number and email address are required in the event we need to contact you. By providing an email address, you will also receive a receipt of your transaction via email.

> Query and Billing Disclosure
The Query and Billing Disclosure lists the details of your transaction prior to submission. This provides you an opportunity to verify that all information is correct before proceeding. To edit any section, click the "Edit" button located within each section. If everything presented is correct and you agree to the charges as presented, click the "Agree/Continue" button. If you don't agree with the charges and wish to complete your renewal offline, click the button labeled "Disagree/Exit". Please note that clicking "the Disagree/Exit" button deletes any data already entered into the system.

> Receipt
After your transaction is finalized, a receipt page will be displayed. Please print this page as a record of your transaction. An email copy of the receipt will also be sent to the address you have specified. From the receipt page, you will be given the option to return to the Colorado Dept. of Agriculture's home page or the start of the application. You may also close your web browser or navigate away from the application at this point in time as your transaction is complete.
