U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced on Tuesday that FEMA has awarded a hazard mitigation grant to Findlay to acquire and remove flood-damaged homes near the Blanchard River- worth 1-million- 428 thousand dollars..
The federal funds will be used to mitigate future disasters by tearing down as many as 16 homes that have been repeatedly flooded along the floodplain, if affected homeowners elect to participate..
