Laurie Konsella is the Women's Health Coordinator for Region VIII of the U.S. Office of Public Health and Science. This region consists of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming.Photo of Laurie Konsella

Ms. Konsella became the Regional Women's Health Coordinator in 1997. Prior to that, Ms. Konsella worked for the regional office of the Health Care Financing Administration as the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Consultant and the Regional AIDS Consultant. In addition to being responsible for policy and monitoring activities related to MCH, AIDS, and other special programs, Ms. Konsella worked extensively in the area of Medicaid managed care and Medicaid waivers. Prior to federal employment, she received her M.P.A. from the University of North Dakota with an emphasis on Health and Human Services and did extensive research on managing culturally diverse populations. In 1997, Ms. Konsella was selected for the Denver Community Leadership Forum and completed the yearlong professional development program. Ms. Konsella is the co-chair of the Region VIII Interagency Women's Health Task Force.
