MAKING SENSE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION BARRIERS

Zane Berge, of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, is trying to
make sense of the barriers to distance education. He writes, "It has become
clear that a laundry list of obstacles to teaching and learning at a
distance is only a first step. By itself, listing dozens of obstacles is
not very useful for most educators and trainers. I think there's value in
identifying the most common barriers." Berge invites all T&D Extra readers
to participate in his data gathering by completing a survey located at:
http://cgi.umbc.edu/cgi-bin/dharley/misc/barrier_survey.pl. Berge says that
the survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and he will share results
with participants who provide their email addresses. For more information,
email him at berge@umbc.edu.
