COMMERCE COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES SUBCOMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS FOR SENATOR WICKER (R-MISS.)
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee today announced Senator Roger Wicker’s (R-Miss.) subcommittee assignments for the second session of the 110th Congress.  Senator Wicker replaced Senator Trent Lott (R-Miss) who retired from the Senate at the end of last year. 

Senator Wicker will sit on the following subcommittees:

Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security

Space, Aeronautics, and Related Sciences

Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard

Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety, and Security

Consumer Affairs, Insurance, and Automotive Safety

Senator Wicker previously served in the United States House of Representatives from January 4, 1995 until December 31, 2007.  During his six terms as the representative for Mississippi’s First Congressional District, he was a member of the House Appropriations Committee and was the Deputy Republican Whip.
