Summary Report — Discussion Meeting on Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Hybrid vehicles that can recharge from wall-plug energy offer high fuel economy and the potential to reduce petroleum use. With those considerations in mind, the U.S. Department of Energy's FreedomCAR and Vehicle Technologies (FCVT) Program recently convened a two-day meeting of more than 120 experts representing the automotive and electric utility industries, national laboratories, and academia to discuss technical and economic issues related to "plug-in" hybrid electric vehicles, or PHEVs.
