The Maryland Institute for Minority Achievement and Urban Education is an academic association, an action oriented collaborative, and an educational center. The director will have an opportunity to shape and develop the direction of this new Institute. Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants whose credentials qualify them for a position of Associate Professor, Full Professor, or Professor of the Practice in an academic department within the College. Professor of the Practice is a non tenured appointment. All applicants must have a strong research background or evidence of successful implementation of programs relevant to the agenda of the institute, have demonstrated experience in the management of and procurement of external grants, have demonstrated ability in collaborating effectively with multiple faculty/student research teams and other groups, and have demonstrated leadership experience. Application Process: Candidates should submit a letter of application addressing the qualifications and expectations noted above, a current curriculum vita, and the names and telephone numbers of three individuals from whom letters of reference may be requested. Examples of recent scholarship should also be included. The search will continue until the position is filled, but applications received prior to October 15, 2001 will receive priority consideration.
