FCC, NTIA AMONG WITNESSES TO TESTIFY AT COMMERCE COMMITTEE DTV HEARING | |

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation announced today the witnesses for a Full Committee hearing on U.S. readiness for the nationwide transition from analog television broadcasting to digital television (DTV) broadcasting. The witnesses are listed below.
With the transition date just a year away – set for February 17, 2009 – the hearing, One Year to the DTV Transition: Consumers, Broadcasters, and Converter Boxes, will focus on consumer awareness, the role of broadcasters and the Federal Communications Commission, and the status of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration converter box program.
