NOMINATION HEARING SCHEDULED FOR
SEAN O’KEEFE
WASHINGTON, DC – Senate Governmental Affairs Committee
Chairman Fred Thompson (R-TN) and Ranking Member Joseph Lieberman
(D-CT) announced that the full committee will hold a hearing
Tuesday, February 27, on the nomination of Sean O’Keefe to be
Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Sean O’Keefe is currently a Louis A. Bantle Professor of
Business and Government Policy and Director of Maxwell-SAIS
National Security Studies at The Maxwell School of Citizenship and
Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Additionally, he is an
Adjunct Professor at the Naval Postgraduate School. O’Keefe
served as Professor of Business Administration and Special
Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Research, and Dean of
the Graduate School at Pennsylvania State University from 1993 to
1996, as Secretary of the Navy in 1992 and 1993, Comptroller and
Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Defense from1989 to
1992, Staff Director and Professional Staff Member of the U.S.
Senate Committee on Appropriations from 1981 to 1989, and as
Budget Analyst for the Naval Sea Systems Command at the Department
of the Navy in 1980 and 1981. O’Keefe holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree from Loyola University and a Master of Public
Administration from The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public
Affairs at Syracuse University.
The nominee will be introduced by Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK)
and Congressman James T. Walsh (R-NY).
