Dr. Wong-Kim is an assistant professor at the School of Social Work, University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She is also the Chair of the Health Concentration.
Dr. Wong-Kim has been an advocate for minority and low-income cancer patients, especially the Asian immigrant population. She is a founding member of the Intercultural Cancer Council, a national advocacy organization for improving the cancer mortality rate of the underserved populations. Dr. Wong-Kim serves as board member of the American Cancer Society in Hawaii, Susan G, Komen Hawaii Affiliate, and Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalitions in Hawaii.
Dr. Wong-Kim was a member of the California Breast Cancer Early Detection Program API Advisory Committee. She was the co-founder and co-facilitator of the Chinese Women Cancer Support Group in San Francisco Chinatown.
