Workforce
The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) spearheads the workforce portion of President George W. Bush’s New Freedom Initiative (NFI), created to ensure that individuals with disabilities participate fully in society and advance their social and economic independence through productive employment.
ODEP employs a comprehensive strategy of public education, outreach, and evidence-based policy research and demonstrations to reach employers, business, and the disability community concerning the most effective ways to tap the underutilized talents of workers with disabilities.
