new series takes viewers behind the scenes of King County’s criminal
justice system. Justice Files features stories of local cops, courts,
prosecutors and jails that touch on the lives of viewers throughout the
region. Hosted by KCTV Reporter Kimberly Hill.
YARD TALK: Dirt Simple Tips for Natural Yards
When's
the best time to plant? How can you save water and help the environment?
You’ll find out in this program hosted by King County’s
own gardening gurus, Doug Rice and Greg Rabourn from the Department
of Natural Resources and Parks. Rice is a trained landscape architect
and Rabourn is a plant naturalist. Together, they are the “Siskel
and Ebert” of gardening using their considerable expertise to
answer questions from the county’s Natural Yard Care hotline.
KING COUNTY: AT YOUR SERVICE
What does King County government do? This monthly half hour program showcases
the county's many public services. Each program has two to three segments featuring
different services, programs and people profiles.
INSIDE TRANSPORTATION
A
monthly news show designed to help you understand how the King County
Department of Transportation serves the public and how you can take advantage
of the transportation options available to the public. Hosted by
Matt Reichmann, it is a presentation of the DOT Public Affairs Unit. Airs:
Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 and 9:30
p.m. and Sundays at 6:00 p.m.

Spotlight is your backstage pass to the local art, culture and heritage
scene of King County. Meet local artists, choreographers and filmmakers
and explore their art and motivation. Join host and long time arts supporter
Vivian Phillips for this half-hour series produced in collaboration with
this successor to the King County
Arts Commission.
MUNI EAGUE FORUM
Monthly show co-produced by The Municipal League of King County on issues
of regional importance. Host: Rita Brogan, vice-chair of the Municipal
League.
PROJECT IMPACT
Creating
disaster-resistant communities. Produced and hosted by Eric Holdeman
and Laurel Nelson with the King County Office of Emergency Management.
Hear local, regional and national experts talk about disaster and emergency
management issues relevant to our area. Host Eric Holdeman covers such
topics as information on hazards and disasters, emergency preparedness
and response, and homeland security. Produced in association with the
King County Office of Emergency Management.
TRUANCY TALK
Strategies
for keeping kids in school. Produced and hosted by Bonnie Glenn, King
County deputy prosecutor specializing in truancy prevention, which is
among Norm Maleng’s top three riorities. SPOTLIGHT ON ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Produced and hosted by Morgan Berry of Public Health of Seattle & King
County. Past topics have included safe holiday food preparation, household
hazardous chemicals, dirty bombs, and a special on West Nile Virus. "Don't
Gamble on Food Safety." This quiz show challenge hosted by Public
Health investigator Larry French shows that food safety isn't just a
concern for restaurant workers.
COMMUNITIES IN ACTION
Produced and hosted by Valerie Thomas-Matson of the King County Community
Organizing Program inside the Dept. of Community and Human Services.
This show informs viewers about Violence, Alcohol, Tobacco and other
Drug & Prevention
accomplishments. The program features Community Organizers who
support and/or establish groups where youth, schools, businesses and

panel convened to research internal management systems of the King
County Sheriff's Office, suggest well-functioning internal review processes,

HEALTH MATTERS
Learn
about a nationally-known King County initiative to
contain health care costs in order to reduce the cost of government. Past
programs have featured representatives from King County's Joint
Labor Management Insurance Committee, key partners in the Healthy Incentives
Program.
