Description

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) was established in 1948 to improve oral, dental, and craniofacial health through research, research training, and dissemination of health information. NIDCR's National Oral Health Information Clearinghouse (NOHIC) is a resource for information on oral health topics and publications related to NIDCR research. Trained information specialist are available to respond to inquiries Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, EST.

NIDCR publishes a range of free consumer brochures on such topics as children's oral health, periodontal disease, spit tobacco, temporomandibular muscle and joint disorders, dry mouth, and oral cancer. Publications are also available on the oral health aspects of various systemic conditions and treatments, including diabetes, developmental disabilities, and cancer treatments.
