...OPEN HOUSE AT NWS SPRINGFIELD A BIG SUCCESS...
Hundreds of visitors attended the Open House at the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday November 3rd, 2007. Many folks waited in line for over an hour to visit with the staff and learn how we issue forecasts and warnings. We also conducted balloon launches so visitors could see how we collect upper air data.
Around 500 pounds of canned good items and vegetables from our visitors were donated to Ozarks Food Harvest. Thanks to all who attended the open house and donated canned good items and vegetables. We had a blast!
