Ezetimibe/simvastatin: Cancer risk not ruled out - An analysis of three clinical trials concludes that there is no convincing evidence supporting a link between Vytorin and cancer risk; however, some clinicians continue to express concern about the safety of the drug.  Full Story ››

Conservative management strategy preferred in low-risk women with UA/NSTEMI - According to results from a meta-analysis of eight randomized trials, men and high-risk women with unstable angina/non–ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (UA/NSTEMI) should be treated with an invasive management strategy, whereas low-risk women should be treated conservatively.  Full Story ››

HAART therapy increases asthma risk in children - HIV-positive pediatric patients receiving HAART had a significantly higher cumulative incidence of asthma compared with those not receiving HAART, according to a recent study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.  Full Story ››
