For suicide rate in prisons, the rate begins at 34 in 1980 and falls to 13 in 1991. The rate then increases to 17 in 1993. After 1993, it fluctuates with a low of 14 as it decreases greatly to 16 in 2003.

For suicide rate in jails, the rate begins at 129 in 1983 and falls to 43 in 2003. (Data are only available for 1983, 1988, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003)

For homicide rate in prisons, the rate begins at 54 in 1980 and falls to 3 in 2001. After 2001, the rate increases to 4 in 2002, where it remains constant until 2003.
