Temperature Records Shattered
The Rapid City Regional Airport and downtown National Weather Service office both set record high temperatures March 12. The airport reached 82 degrees, breaking the previous record of 68 degrees set in 1979 and tying March’s all-time record high last set March 26, 1993. The National Weather Service’s new record high was 79 degrees, exceeding the 1933 reading of 71 degrees.
