Mediation Services

Mediation Services, available through the adoption program, provides an opportunity for the birth parent(s) to come to agreement on the level of openness which best serves the individual needs of the child. Openness is the sharing of information between relatives and adoptive parent(s) as determined on a continuum. Under Oregon law (ORS 109.305), the Post Adoption Communication Agreement is legally enforceable and is a written agreement betweeen the birth parent(s) and adoptive parents) based on a thoughtful, informed decision-making process for communication following the legalization of the adoption
