  Recreation and Education Opportunities

Fishing
Fishing opportunities abound in the Cahaba River. Fish species sought by local anglers include, catfish, bass, and sunfish. There are numerous access points on the river and one unimproved ramp on the Refuge suitable for small jon boats or canoes. This access is located on the right off of CR 24 just before you come to Piper bridge heading east.

Wildlife Observation
Wildlife Observation and Photography - Public use opportunities are limited due to the newness of the Refuge but Refuge visitors can access the Refuge and observe wildlife both on land and from the water. Canoeing on the Cahaba is a popular summer pastime.

Hours
Outdoor facilities are open daily, dawn to dusk (year-round).

Entrance Fees
There is no entrance fee for use of the Refuge.
