Excellence in Science

The Excellence in Science Committee (EISC) promotes the CDC's scientific infrastructure and facilitates communication and collaboration that enhance scientific areas and activities needed for state-of-the-art conduct of science. With leadership from the Chair, James W. Stephens, Ph.D. and the Vice Chair, Rita Helfand, Ph.D., EISC provides a forum for information exchange between Assistant/Associate Directors for Science, and for CDC working groups. As advocates for scientific integrity, EISC serves as a consulting body for science-related issues and makes recommendations to the CIO's, and/or the Director, CDC and Administrator, ATSDR when appropriate.
