This workshop is on the proteinaceous byproducts of meat rendering (e.g., skin, blood, bone, offal, feathers) for which the current uses are limited to animal feed. Specifically, the workshop will identify research needs and opportunities for developing new, value-added, non-feed uses of these byproducts. The major deliverable from the workshop will be a written summary of workshop proceedings, findings and action items.
