Description
The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to child advocacy, which strives to protect all children--and particularly children of low-income and minority families--through research, litigation, community organization, legislative involvement, technical assistance to State and local groups, and public education. CDF is active in informing the press about children's needs. It conducts research into issues such as child health and welfare programs. CDF publishes a large variety of reports, guidelines, and legislative evaluations on issues related to the welfare of children.

CDF provides books on topics such as homeless children, child care, Federal maternal and child health programs, handbooks, and information brochures. Serial publications: CDF Reports (newsletter), monthly--reports on national developments in the children's issues field, project descriptions, and State and local organizational activities; and State of America's Children, an annual report.
