NRC NAMES NEW SENIOR RESIDENT INSPECTOR AT BYRON NUCLEAR POWER PLANT |

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Lisle, Illinois, have announced the assignment of Richard Skokowski as the agency's senior resident inspector at the Byron Nuclear Power Plant in Byron, Illinois. Skokowski joined the NRC full-time in June 1993 as a reactor engineer in the agency's Region I office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. In August 1995 he became a resident inspector at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Plant in Scriba, New York, and in June 1999 he became a resident inspector at the James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant, also in Scriba. Prior to joining the NRC, he served seven years in the U.S. Navy as an electrical operator. Skokowski earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Skokowski, his wife Stephanie, and two sons will live in Sycamore, Illinois. Skokowski, who began his duties at Byron on June 4, joins NRC Resident Inspector Brian Kemker at the plant. They can be reached at the plant by calling (815) 234-5451. |
