Good Friday Snow Storm Brings Wet Snow and Welcome Moisture to Wyoming

April 9, 2004 - A storm that began to spread rain and mountain snow across Wyoming on Thursday, April 8th pounded central Wyoming with primarily wet snow on Friday, April 9th. Many locations across central Wyoming picked up over one inch of water over the storm's duration. A few thunderstorms also resulted in bursts of heavy snow across western Wyoming. Satellite imagery showed the greatest snowfall totals observed in a swath from Casper to Lander and against the east slopes of the Wind River Mountains and around the Big Piney area where 6 to 12 amounts were common. The southwest portion of the Big Horn Basin also picked up 4 to 8 inches of snowfall.
