Interested in Reporting Snowfall to the NWS in Riverton Through the Internet?
Check Out This New Online Service

eSpotter is an experimental project designed to facilitate the submission of spotter reports online.  The system is being developed to enhance and increase timely and accurate online spotter reporting and communications between spotters and the Weather Forecast Office in Riverton.eSpotter Logo  Spotters in the field can submit their reports using the eSpotter website.  Seconds after the report is submitted, the staff at the Weather Forecast Office in Riverton receives an audio and visual alarm stating that an online spotter report has been submitted.  The information in these reports can be used by NWS staff for inclusion in forecasts, statements, and summaries.

Snow CloudCurrently, the NWS in Riverton is looking for people interested in reporting snowfall reports using eSpotter.  Of particular interest are those western and central Wyoming residents that live in rural or sparsely populated areas.  However, anyone who is interested can email Chris Jones to receive instructions for establishing an account.

Residents in the following counties are eligible to use the Riverton eSpotter system:  Big Horn, Fremont, Hot Springs, Johnson, Lincoln, Natrona, Park, Sweetwater, Sublette, Teton, and Washakie.  So, if you are a dedicated snow watcher please email Chris today.
