The Magnetic Materials Group studies advanced magnetic and superconducting materials to characterize their properties and performance, and to promote their economical processing and efficient use. The group's mission is to:
- provide the nation with the magnetic measurement methods, standards, and data required for the understanding and control of processing, structure, properties, and performance of magnetic materials, and
- assist industry in the development of technology needed to improve quality, modernize manufacturing processes, and facilitate commercialization of advanced magnetic materials.
