This project is a product of the IITA Regional Summer Computer
Workshop held at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio
during August, 1997. Participants used information about the complex
scientific research that they learned from their NASA Mentors and
developed this project to explain the basic scientific principle of
LIFT of an aircraft. To help students understand the principle
of LIFT and the variables that effect it, a NASA developed software
program, "FoilSim", was studied extensively. Teachers who developed
