Partner Profile
Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is one of the largest raw water suppliers in the state of Texas, providing water to more than 1.7 million people spanning 10 counties. TRWD has a strong sense of community, operating with the triple-bottom-line policy of energy management: economy, environment, and social responsibility. As part of this policy, Tarrant Regional Water District purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) equal to two percent of its annual electricity usage. Regarding the facility's decision to purchase RECs, the Director of Engineering Services comments, "We have to use that power, but how we use it will make a difference."
