Partner Profile Shawnee Peak Ski Resort is located less than one hour from Portland, Maine, and offers day and night skiing, a halfpipe, and two terrain parks. Shawnee Peak is purchasing 1.3 million kWh of wind energy credits annually to offset 100 percent of its electricity usage. As a ski resort, Shawnee Peak's business is directly related to keeping the Earth's temperature constant, and is therefore hyper-sensitive to the affects of climate change. Shawnee Peak is proud of its purchase. But the resort's real contribution is its commitment to sharing the philosophy of purchasing green power with customers and vendors. We made our energy purchase a major component in all communications. The resort hopes its message compels others to make similar decisions. |
