Partner Profile Signal Mountain Lodge, located in Grand Teton National Park, strives to operate in a manner that is environmentally responsible and to help set the standard for the lodging industry. Since the 1980s, Signal Mountain Lodge has implemented policies and procedures that address waste reduction, re-use of goods, recycling, environmentally preferable purchasing, integrated pest management, water quality protection, energy and water conservation, and other issues that affect the resources of Grand Teton National Park and our planet. Recently, Signal Mountain Lodge conducted a major energy efficiency retrofit and reinvested a portion of its energy savings in 180 MWh of green power through its local utility supplier. The Lodge is currently planning to share its environmental success stories with its visitors, with the hope of inspiring them to action in their own lives. "The important thing is that we show people that this can be done inside a National Park," said Jason Ryan, Operations Manager at Signal Mountain Lodge. "If they don't see this type of leadership happening inside a National Park, where will they be able to see it?" |
