Partner Profile CV Therapeutics® is a biopharmaceutical company primarily focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of new small molecule drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. CVT is committed to improving human health; since global warming is an issue that affects all of us, we decided to purchase "green" power to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions. As a consequence, the company purchases nearly 1.6 million kilowatt hours of renewably-generated electricity annually. CV Therapeutics has found that it costs very little to make a big impact, especially when a company funds the purchase of green power through energy efficiency project-derived savings. "Over the past six or seven years CV Therapeutics has continuously worked to improve the energy efficiency of its facilities. As a result, we've been able to cut our utilities costs and reinvest a portion of the savings into the purchase of green power.
