AIDSinfo Drug Database

The AIDSinfo Drug Database provides HIV/AIDS drug fact sheets for the drugs most commonly used to treat patients with HIV/AIDS. The database includes fact sheets for both Food and Drug Administration-approved and investigationalĀ drugs. For each drug, patient, health professional, and Spanish versionsĀ are available. All three include links to an audio file of the correct pronunciation, as well as a link to additional sources of information about the drug.

Patient versions of fact sheets generally provide the following information:

  • Brand name
  • Drug class
  • HIV/AIDS-related uses
  • Dosage form/administration
  • Recommended daily dose
  • Contraindications
  • Possible side effects
  • Drug and food interactions
  • Clinical trials
  • Information about manufacturers

The health professional versions of the fact sheets generally provide the following information:

  • Drug description
  • HIV/AIDS-related uses
  • Non-HIV/AIDS-related uses
