Final Space Shuttle Program Programmatic Environmental Assessment
 
NASA has completed the Final Space Shuttle Program (SSP) Programmatic Environmental Assessment (EA); Transition and Program Property Disposition to address the potential environmental impacts associated with the transition and retirement of the SSP. Based on the comments received to the draft environmental assessment released in February 2008, and pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), as amended (42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq.), the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) Regulations for Implementing the Procedural Provisions of NEPA (40 CFR Parts 1500 - 1508), and NASA policy and procedures (14 CFR Part 1216, Subpart 1216.3), NASA has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) with respect to the disposition of Space Shuttle Program real and personal property.
