The goal of the Space Internship Project is to provide students who are pursuing a degree in a science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, discipline valuable work experience during their academic training. This work experience is related to their academic studies and will provide knowledge of NASA's missions. It offers insight into NASA's Kennedy Space Center's other educational and co-op programs and will help NASA broaden the pool of qualified applicants for the future workforce. The internship is either ten or fifteen weeks, dependent on the semester, and is concurrent with academic terms. The Space Florida Internship Project is funded through a partnership of Space Florida and the Florida Space Grant Consortium.
Eligibility
--Student must be attending an accredited academic institution.
--Student must have a 3.0 (or higher) overall grade point average.
--Student must be a U.S. citizen.
--Student must satisfactorily pass a security background investigation.
--Student must be pursuing a career in STEM.
