NASA SSC HOSTS FIRST ROBOTICS KICKOFF FOR REGIONAL SCHOOLS
More than 300 students, coaches and mentors from Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida converged on NASA's Stennis Space Center on Saturday, Jan. 5, to kick off the 2008 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition season.

The annual Buckeye Regional FIRST Competition will be held at the Wolstein Center March 20-22, 2008, in Cleveland, Ohio.


FIRST Robotics Competition   →
In 2008, the FIRST competition will reach more than 37,000 high school-aged students on nearly 1,500 teams. The competitions are high-tech, spectator sporting events, the result of lots of brainstorming, teamwork, mentoring, project timelines and deadlines.

The ultimate objective of NASA's Robotics Alliance Project is to expand the national resource of experienced, talented robotics experts that are available to develop future robotics systems needed by NASA and support the national investment in the robotics market.
