Obtaining Chinese Visas to Cover the Six Party Talks

As with the previous round of Six-Party Talks, the Government of the People’s Republic of China has asked the United States Embassy in Beijing to submit a list of those journalists from U.S. press organizations -- regardless of nationality -- who will request visas for travel to China to cover the Six-Party Talks that begin February 25 in Beijing.

Please e-mail the information requested below to the following two addresses at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing:

GuYX@state.gov
XiongYX@state.gov

Requested information:

Name
Organization
Passport number
Place visa will be collected
Intended duration of stay
Special equipment (not computers, handheld tape recorders, personal cameras)

Journalists representing media organizations based in the other countries participating in the talks should contact those governments for information.

NOTE: Inclusion on the list does not guarantee that the Government of China will issue a visa. However, Chinese authorities will not issue a visa to a journalist not on the list.
